Climate change was the biggest hoax of the 2000s.
Billions spent. No change. No progress. It’s still hotter.

The need for smart, experienced professionals with engineering or finance backgrounds to go get an MBA and then do consulting will always amaze me.
Why. Literally do anything else. Live a little. IMO that’s going backwards and yall overrated.

Someone needs to figure out anonymous, yet verified identities when it comes to purchases. This is an insane amount risk for people and can cause personal harm and financial distress.
It’s getting worse every year - Equifax, Facebook, Marriott, Yahoo, National Public Data etc.
Our names, addresses, passwords and social security are basically out there. How is this normal?
Getting spam text messages from Coinbase, Apple resets, and bs calls, it’s getting very tiresome.

AI only gets better because it has to compete. We rotate models because they are being replaced by something better.
Rugged individualism isn’t bad. Without it, we would still be stuck with 2024 Claude or GPT-3.5. No progress. No urgency.
Take away competition and everything slows down. Standards drop. Nobody is forced to improve.
Then you are told collectivism is the future. Look at the MTA. A hundred years in and it is still broken. No real improvement because nothing is allowed to fail.
Or look at PG&E. Centralized, protected, untouchable. What did that produce. Fires.

I used to have trouble talking to girls. Then I discovered Claude Code.
Now I have 7 girlfriends and 7 different personalities. It's really that easy.
Mondays: I'm Mark. Anarcho-syndicalist. Anti-establishment. I haven't showered in three days because hygiene is a capitalist construct. Susan thinks I'm "authentic."
Tuesdays: I'm Kyle. I own a gym (according to my LinkedIn). I talk about macros and "the grind." Kathy asked me to spot her at CrossFit. I said yes even though I've never been inside a gym.
Wednesdays: I'm Benedict. My father runs a PE fund (he's actually a dentist). I spend my days

Most people lack inner purpose and the capacity for independent thought. Because of that, they drift toward outrage and group identity. Being angry gives them a sense of meaning, and the crowd supplies the beliefs they are unwilling or unable to form themselves. What they call conviction is usually just shared resentment and borrowed ideas, repeated until it feels like truth.

James Wynn made reckless decisions and blew himself up.
The White Whale got wiped on perps in a black swan event he could not control. Big difference. His net worth took a hit, but he is far from broke.
After that, he decides to CTO a coin and inject his own capital.
Irrational but whatever.
And somehow everyone fuds him for doing exactly what they pray their coins and devs would do.
It is silly. Wynn comes out swinging, calls him a broke whale, and frames it as cope for losses, while conveniently ignoring his own very public blowups.
What is actually funny is how bad people are at imagining

Sam Darnold is about to end up in the superbowl isn’t he. Couldn’t we just have given him a 2-3 year contract. Let JJ come up like Rodger’s, didn’t need to immediately start given the team was Super Bowl primed. Big mistake.

International law and order has never truly existed. States complied when it served their interests and ignored it when the consequences were negligible.
It only semi functioned under a single superpower. Now there are several, and enforcement is meaningless.
And those who did had no alternative.

China has export controls on rare earths.
US now controls Venezuela and thus the largest oil reserves.
It’s war games with resources and to fuel AI. The landscape is changing.

I don’t condone war or the invasion of other countries.
But if you zoom out over the last 30 years, it’s hard not to notice the direction things are moving.
Russia invaded Georgia. Then Crimea. Then Ukraine.
China absorbed Tibet, built military islands, and continues to tighten pressure on Taiwan.
Venezuela held elections, but the winner doesn’t govern. Corruption hollowed the state out and exported instability.
Energy matters again. Oil, gas, power grids, rare earths.
AI accelerates all of it. AI needs electricity, chips, data centers, water. Countries that can’t secure those fall behind fast
