Wait, so there's this whole thing with Telegram's Pavel Durov getting arrested in Paris back in 2024, right? And apparently his girlfriend Yulia Vavilova was with him on the private jet when they landed - she got detained too. The wild part is some reports suggested she might've actually been involved in how he got caught in the first place.
From what came out, Yulia had been posting stories from his jet on Instagram, posting pics of them together in Paris and all that. Then boom - both arrested at Le Bourget airport. People couldn't even get in touch with her after, which made the whole thing even messier.
Telegram's official statement was basically like 'Pavel has nothing to hide, he travels Europe all the time, it's crazy to blame the platform for what people do on it.' But the arrest was supposedly part of an investigation into Telegram allowing crimes to happen because of insufficient moderation. So the whole Pavel Durov wife/girlfriend situation became this weird subplot in what was already a huge story for the crypto and tech world.
