Think about how many apps are holding fragments of who you are right now. Your data's sprawled across random servers, and you barely have a say in what happens to it.

There's a different approach gaining traction—one where your identity info never leaves your control. Lock it down, keep it private, yet still verify whatever's needed without spilling the actual details. No more handing over everything just to prove one thing.

Really, my data has long been sold completely by these apps, hasn't it?

That doesn't seem right. Wouldn't this mean I have to manage my own keys again with self-custody? I still haven't recovered from losing my private key last time.

Finally, someone dares to talk about this. My data fragments are about to fall apart.

ngl the "self-sovereign identity" pitch sounds great until u examine the actual implementation... seen this narrative cycle before. which protocol are we talking? because the math on these verification schemes usually doesn't check out once you stress test the privacy claims.

Seriously, the issue of data fragmentation has been annoying for a long time, always getting taken advantage of by various apps. This kind of self-verification solution sounds pretty good, just not sure when it will become widespread.

The issue of data privacy should have been addressed a long time ago; we're getting taken advantage of every day.

My data fragments are scattered across dozens of apps, and just thinking about it makes me sick. Autonomy sounds like something out of science fiction, but it really is time for it to arrive.
