Arizona Attorney General Files Criminal Lawsuit Against Kalshi for Operating Illegal Gambling

Gate News reports that on March 18, Arizona Attorney General Kris Mayes filed criminal charges against prediction market platform Kalshi. The Attorney General stated in the indictment, “Kalshi may claim to be a ‘prediction market,’ but in reality, it is operating illegal gambling activities and accepting bets on Arizona elections, both of which violate Arizona law. No company has the authority to decide which laws to follow.” It is also reported that Kalshi is currently facing other legal lawsuits in states such as Ohio and Tennessee.
