On December 17, foreign media reported that Goldman Sachs is restructuring some of its Technology, Media, and Telecommunications (TMT) investment banking divisions to better seize the opportunities presented by the rapid development of the artificial intelligence industry and its supporting infrastructure. An internal memo shows that Yasmine Coupal and Jason Tofsky will jointly lead a newly established “Global Infrastructure Technology” division, which is formed by integrating the existing Telecom and CoreTech teams. Kyle Jessen will serve as the head of Infrastructure Technology M&A and will continue to be responsible for semiconductor business. Another new division is “Global Internet and Media.” A Goldman Sachs spokesperson has confirmed that the memo’s contents are accurate.
