According to Jin10 data on August 9, analysis shows that as Russia intensifies its offensive in eastern Ukraine, the number of battles between the two armies in July reached the highest level since the outbreak of full-scale conflict. The independent monitoring organization ACLED (Armed Conflict Location and Event Data) stated that there were over 2,600 battles between Russia and Ukraine in July, the highest monthly figure in three and a half years of conflict. ACLED also noted that Kyiv has shifted its airstrike targets to Russian defense contractors, aiming to disrupt Moscow’s drone production. This indicates that the U.S. government’s efforts for a ceasefire have made little progress ahead of the summit between Trump and Putin on August 15 in Alaska.
