Gate Adjusted Transaction Confirmation for Layer 2 Deposits

For enhanced security, Gate has updated the deposit confirmation for transactions via L2 networks. Transaction made via any Layer 2 will only be credited after the Finality is achieved on both layer 2 and its underlying layer 1. Based on the L2 finality mechanism, its underlying L1 confirmation time and network conditions, some L2 transactions may take up to 24 hours to be credited.

According to historical data, the Finality on zkSync Era, Metis,Base and ARB is as below:

zkSync Era : about 24 hours

Metis: about 5 hours

Base: about half an hour

Arbitrum: about half an hour

If you are using the L2 transaction, it is highly recommended that you take the finality time into consideration when making your trading strategy.

Gate is also planning to provide a finality time reminder for each L2 network in the future to provide you a more precise and updated finality time for your reference.
