The Socket research team has uncovered six malicious npm packages associated with the North Korean hacker group Lazarus. These packages were designed to deploy backdoors for stealing user credentials and crypto wallet data, particularly targeting Solana and Exodus wallets. The attackers used domain squatting and typosquatting techniques to deceive developers into installing them. Five of the packages were disguised as GitHub open-source projects, increasing the risk of widespread infection.
