If I had to describe my relationship with Gate, I’d say it’s not just “user,” but more like an “old friend.” Because during the bleakest moments of the bear market, I wasn’t abandoned by the market, nor forgotten by the platform.

That was the darkest hour of the last bull-bear cycle. As a reckless small retail investor, I had been riding high on contracts on Gate, but greed eventually caused me to fall. That night, overconfidence and no stop-loss set, I watched my funds rapidly shrink in minutes, almost hitting liquidation.

At 2 a.m., staring at the red candlesticks, my mind went blank. Hopeless, I tried to browse Gate’s Academy section, hoping to find some “recovery strategies.” In the midst of extreme anxiety, I opened Gate Live, where there were no frantic calls to buy or sell; the host was calmly reviewing the market and analyzing macroeconomic data.

That night, I didn’t make any more moves. I stayed in the live stream until dawn. Although my assets were wiped out and zeroed out, I realized I wasn’t as hopeless as I thought. Because Gate offers not just a trading channel, but an ecosystem: I received encouragement from strangers in the community, got trading guidance from 24-hour customer service replies, and even found that the “Rebate Treasure” I had previously planted could still give me some pocket money.

In these 13 years, many people only saw the hundredfold coins that emerged on Gate, or the airdrops from startups. But what I saw was the “door” it kept shining at every late night for retail traders.
