Friend search apps, there are quite a few different types. Recently, I’ve tried various ones, and unlike in the past, more apps are genuinely designed with safety in mind. Mandatory identity verification, 24-hour monitoring, and so on.

The fact that they are free to use is also a big plus. Especially for women-only apps, some are completely free, and more apps are offering basic features for free even for men. Favomatch is specialized in finding friends for supporting favorite activities, Touch is exclusive to women and also emphasizes safety, and DotMatch is similarly focused on making friends among women.

If you want to make friends of the opposite sex, I think Bumble’s “BFF Mode” is pretty good. You can switch to a friend-finding mode, making it easier to meet people with similar goals. Also, Tantan from China allows you to find friends of the same or opposite sex, and you can message without restrictions.

For those in their 30s and above, Somli is a good target. It’s aimed at the middle-aged generation, so it’s easier to find friends of the same age group. The search functions are also comprehensive, allowing you to filter by whether you have children, holidays, and other detailed criteria.

Honestly, when choosing a friend search app, whether it’s “dedicated to making friends” or not is important. Apps that mix romantic pursuits can have users with different intentions. Picking an app that combines safety and free usage is the key to avoiding mistakes.
