Anthropic's Project Glasswing, announced on April 8, 2026, is a massive industry-wide cybersecurity coalition designed to shift the advantage back to defenders using a new, unreleased frontier model called Claude Mythos Preview.

The program is a direct response to a "stark threshold" reached in AI development: the ability for models to find and exploit software vulnerabilities at a level that surpasses most human experts.

Core Objective: "Defensive Advantage"

The primary goal of Glasswing is to use AI's offensive capabilities for proactive defense. By identifying and patching vulnerabilities in the world's most critical infrastructure before bad actors can find them, Anthropic aims to "flip the economics" of cyberattacks.
Claude Mythos Preview

Unlike previous releases, Claude Mythos Preview is not being made public. Anthropic is keeping it restricted due to its "dual-use" nature—specifically its high-level reasoning and coding capabilities that allow it to autonomously chain together zero-day vulnerabilities.

In early tests, it reportedly identified thousands of critical zero-days across every major operating system and web browser.
