On-chain data—are they merely used for observation and analysis, or can they truly be transformed into a source of revenue?
If the answer is only the former, then this sector has long entered a highly competitive stage with limited growth potential. But if the answer is the latter, then most projects currently in the market may have gone off course.
This is also the core reason I have been paying close attention to River @RiverdotInc and @River4fun recently. They are trying to do something more fundamentally meaningful: directly linking on-chain data with user incentives, rather than just keeping users on a simple data analysis interface.
Users can directly earn rewards by contributing data or participating in data-related activities. This approach is not new, but the execution logic differs significantly. Many similar projects ultimately become task platforms or airdrop harvesting tools, while River @RiverdotInc focuses more on capturing and monetizing the value of the data itself.
In other words, they aim to transform on-chain data from “spectators of transactions” into “core assets,” truly becoming a vehicle for users and project teams to co-create and share value.
When a project begins redefining the role and value positioning of data, it at least attempts to break out of the homogeneous industry narrative.
In today’s increasingly competitive on-chain data sector, this kind of breakthrough attempt itself deserves greater attention and recognition.
