I've noticed quite a few mining apps circulating lately, and I became curious about what actually works on smartphones. Honestly, mobile mining is complicated because your phone doesn't have the computing power needed, but there are apps that enable cloud mining, so technically it works.
The most popular seem to be CryptoTab, which is one of the first to offer this feature—just install it and start mining, although the earnings are modest. Then there's StormGain, which has a fairly clean interface but requires a restart every 4 hours, which is annoying if you want it to run all day. NiceHash is another popular option, especially among those who know what they're doing, because it shows estimated performance and has good security (even though it's always better to enable two-factor authentication). Finally, Bitdeer is more for serious miners who want access to professional tools.
According to the latest info, the easiest coins to mine from a smartphone in 2024 are Monero (XMR) at $325.66, Dogecoin (DOGE) at $0.09, Vertcoin and Ravencoin (RVN) at $0.01. But Bitcoin remains the main reference, even though it technically takes hours and hours to mine even a fraction.
Honestly? Phone mining apps are more of a curiosity than a real source of income. The competition is huge, the time investment is long, and the actual earnings are practically zero compared to the energy you consume. But if you just want to experiment with how mining works without investing in expensive hardware, then it's worth trying them. The important thing is not to expect to get rich because it doesn't happen. Read the terms of use of these apps carefully before installing, as they change often. And if you choose to mine on an iPhone, be prepared for even stricter limitations due to Apple's restrictions.
