I just learned about what IBO is and realized that this is a pretty interesting opportunity within the Bitcoin ecosystem. Simply put, IBO (Initial Bitcoin Offering) is the first launchpad for projects seeking to raise funds directly on Bitcoin and other UTXO chains.
The advantage of IBO is that it is built on the RGB++ protocol, a technology that enables Bitcoin to have powerful programmability without the need for complex cross-chain bridges. Instead of using traditional bridges, RGB++ employs fully Turing-complete UTXOs to process smart contracts, maintaining Bitcoin's security while expanding its capabilities.
I see the biggest difference between IBO and traditional ICOs is that the capital circulates directly on the UTXO chain, without passing through a bridge, making it much safer and more efficient. The operation is also quite logical: projects launch IBOs on Bitcoin, Dogechain, BCH, or other UTXO chains. Funds from the IBO are automatically locked and initial liquidity is created on UTXOSwap, with LP tokens also locked for one year.
From my observations, most tokens are not sold via IBO but are distributed for free to the community through staking, which helps reduce selling pressure from VCs and encourages faster circulation. The IBO price is also pegged to the seed round, so both community investors and VCs have equal trading conditions.
What I like most is the protection mechanism: if the IBO does not complete within the specified time, it will fail, and the funds are automatically refunded to participants via smart contracts. No risk of funds getting stuck.
If you want to make money from IBOs, you can participate early in IBO rounds to get tokens at a lower price. As the project develops and gains market recognition, the token price usually increases significantly. Another way is staking CKB or Seal — these are leading assets in the RGB++ ecosystem. Staking them can earn you airdrops of 20 Seal from the IBO platform, giving you both IBO tokens and the potential for price appreciation.
In reality, closely monitoring market developments and new project information is key to timing your trades well. IBO is an emerging fundraising method with great potential within the Bitcoin ecosystem. It offers investors opportunities to participate in high-quality projects and potentially earn significant profits. If you're still unclear about what IBO is or want to learn more, now is a good time to get started.
