I just recently discovered that IG accounts can actually be switched between professional and personal accounts at any time. I wanted to share this little tip.

Previously, I changed my account to a creator account to use data analysis tools and advertising features, but after a while, I realized I didn't really need those functions. I just wanted to share my life simply. Later, I found out that switching back to a personal account on IG is super easy: open the app, go to your profile, tap the three-line menu in the top right corner, find "Creator Tools and Controls" (or Business Tools, depending on your account type), then select "Switch Account Type" to revert.

But keep in mind, when you switch back to a personal account, it defaults to "Public," meaning anyone can see your posts and stories. I was a bit worried about privacy at first, but then I found out you can just go into privacy settings again to fix that. Simply go back to your profile, tap the three-line menu, select "Account Privacy Settings," and toggle "Private Account" on. The system will ask for confirmation—just tap "Switch to Private Account," and you're done.

Once set this way, only approved followers can see your content, and you can change who can view your posts anytime. Honestly, the process of switching to a personal account on IG is surprisingly simple—no worries about data loss or complicated steps, just a few taps. If you also want to share your life more privately, give it a try.
