Anyone who loves movies struggles with choosing a subscription service. With options like Amazon Prime Video, Netflix, U-NEXT, and more, it's hard to determine which one is truly the best. Recently, I compared 12 popular movie streaming services based on price, number of titles, and features, and honestly, there are significant differences between them.

In conclusion, if you want to watch as many movies as possible at the lowest cost, Amazon Prime Video is the top choice. It costs 600 yen per month and offers a decent selection of Japanese, Western, and Korean films. However, new releases are mainly available for rental. On the other hand, if you want to fully enjoy Korean movies, Hulu is recommended, with 7 out of 10 tested titles available for unlimited viewing. It costs 1,026 yen, which is slightly higher, but the content is more extensive.

Netflix is ideal for those who prioritize ease of watching. It offers basic features like fast-forward, downloads, and skipping scenes, allowing for a smooth viewing experience. The ad-supported plan costs only 890 yen, which is affordable. However, simultaneous viewing is limited to two devices, so sharing with family requires some planning.

For viewers mainly interested in Japanese films, DMM TV and U-NEXT are also good options. DMM TV is very affordable at 550 yen per month and has a strong selection of Japanese movies. U-NEXT is more expensive (2,189 yen), but offers the best balance of Japanese, Western, and Korean films. Plus, you receive 1,200 points each month, which can be exchanged for movie tickets.

If you're a Disney fan, Disney+ is the way to go. For those wanting to watch Fuji TV dramas, FOD Premium is recommended. For TV Asahi fans, TELASA is a good choice. Subscription services from different broadcasters are often best used in combination with their drama content for higher satisfaction. If you're only interested in movies, choosing a comprehensive service is the best option.
