Rubric Launches New Data Protection Feature for Google Workspace
Rubrik announces that it will provide data protection features for Google Workspace users to enhance their cyber resilience. The newly launched Rubrik Data Protection solution will offer end-to-end network recovery capabilities for over 11 million businesses worldwide using Google Drive and Gmail. This protection feature is expected to help reduce critical business data loss or operational disruptions.
Rubrik Chief Product Officer Anneka Gupta stated, “Organizations cannot isolate data protection,” emphasizing that modern resilience requires protecting three pillars: data, identity, and artificial intelligence. The “Rubrik Data Protection” solution offers immutable, air-gapped backups and includes high-fidelity rapid recovery features for Gmail and Google Drive.
This release comes at a time when cyberattacks, misconfigurations, and internal threats are continuously evolving. Attackers are increasingly targeting identity systems and SaaS platforms, making integrated approaches essential to fill new protection gaps. Rubrik provides a comprehensive cyber resilience platform for enterprises migrating critical workloads and tools to cloud-based environments like Google Workspace, combining backup, security, and identity protection.
The new data protection system is scheduled to be unveiled at Google Cloud Next 2026 in Las Vegas in April.
