BITCOIN IS GETTING CAUGHT IN RISK-OFF SELLING.
Cathie Wood says #Bitcoin’s recent weakness isn’t about fundamentals.
She argues $BTC has been pulled into the same algorithmic risk-off selling hitting other sectors -- where investors sell first and ask questions later. In that environment, capital has temporarily rotated toward traditional safe havens like gold.
But Wood says the comparison misses something important.
Gold supply can grow as more is mined, and ARK believes that gold supply growth may even accelerate. Bitcoin, on the other hand, has a fixed issuance schedule that cannot increase.
She also noted that the ETF era brought in newer, weaker holders, who are more likely to panic during volatility.
Despite the recent drop, Wood says the long-term uptrend for Bitcoin is still intact, and she doesn’t believe the structural trend has been broken.
In her view, the current move looks more like risk-off positioning than a fundamental shift in Bitcoin’s thesis.
