Changhe: The Supreme Court of Panama has decided to declare the company's port concession agreement unconstitutional.

Long and Short Announcement: The Supreme Court of Panama has decided to declare Law No. 5 of January 16, 1997, its amendments, and extensions unconstitutional. This law authorized the Panama Port Company (PPC, which indirectly holds a 90% stake) to operate under a concession agreement at the Balboa and Cristóbal ports, which has been in place for nearly thirty years. The court’s decision may take effect in early February 2026. The company has filed arbitration proceedings against the Republic of Panama. The board strongly opposes this ruling, will continue to consult legal counsel, and reserves all rights.
