Original Title: Changpeng Zhao: cryptocurrencies will save you from the destiny that awaits with AI
Original Link:
Background: AI and Employment Crisis
Artificial Intelligence (AI) is one of those technologies that are both fascinating and frightening. Millions of professionals worry that AI will ultimately cause unemployment by performing tasks more efficiently. This could trigger serious poverty issues worldwide. However, a co-founder of a leading exchange suggests that cryptocurrencies might be a lifeline.
In a recent social media post, this entrepreneur raised this controversial topic: can AI eliminate the need for human workers in dozens of professional fields? There are arguments supporting this hypothesis, as well as arguments against it.
Comparison of Both Sides
Supporters point out that efficiency will become the key factor, prompting companies to choose robots over humans. By completing tasks with lower error rates and higher speed, this technology aligns with the immediacy characteristic of the digital age.
However, the counterarguments are multifaceted, suggesting that ultimately people will seek human uniqueness in environments filled with robots. This could spark a renewed interest in human labor.
In any case, the initial reaction might be widespread unemployment, which is exactly what a founder of a major exchange referred to when suggesting a rescue through cryptocurrencies.
AI will make you unemployed.
Cryptocurrencies will make you unnecessary to work.
Buy and hold now, retire in a few years.
(Not financial advice)
Cryptocurrencies as a Solution to the Employment Crisis
For this well-known entrepreneur, professionals in various industries facing the risk of unemployment in the coming years still have opportunities. During this period, investing in cryptocurrencies could shield them from the hypothetical employment crisis triggered by AI.
In the aforementioned post, he wrote that AI might make you unemployed, but cryptocurrencies will make you unnecessary to work. Essentially, by saving digital currencies now, when AI replaces you, these investments will have generated enough returns to make work unnecessary.
“Buy and hold now, retire in a few years—if cryptocurrencies allow you to do so,” he stated. This declaration is crucial for hundreds of millions facing uncertainty, at least in theory. While AI is not yet fully prepared to replace most of the workforce, it might be able to do so in a few years.
Broader Implications
It is worth noting that this entrepreneur’s call for the potential of cryptocurrencies goes beyond the AI issue. Essentially, the possibility of early retirement is a huge hope for millions of workers. It would enable them to focus entirely on their hobbies and open doors for those outside the labor force, allowing them to contribute to global economic and social development.
As shown, CZ’s advice has become an opportunity for discussion and reflection on how new technologies might impact the future in the short term.

Really, is the crypto savior here? CZ probably just wants to extend the life of the crypto world this time. Can AI unemployment be solved by holding coins?
---
It's the same old rhetoric... People in the crypto circle just keep filling their own pockets. Anyway, the retail investors are used to it.
---
Sounds great, but I always feel like this is just paving the way for the next round of chopping the leeks.
---
So you're saying that with AI coming, we should just hodl coins? That's a pretty extreme logic, buddy.
---
This kind of rhetoric is really a bit powerless... What can coins really save?
---
Haha, can cryptocurrencies save people from unemployment? First, save your own project.
---
In the end, it's the same old story: the crypto circle is best at selling anxiety and then hope.
---
It's always a combination of crisis theory + holding coins theory. Here it comes again.
---
I want to see if this big shot is really making a living from coins, rather than from exchange order fees.
---
Unemployment threat + crypto? That connection is just too forced...

Ha, it's the same old story... Does CZ really believe this? Can crypto save humanity? Let's first figure out the problems within the crypto community itself.
---
Oh my, is AI unemployment really that scary? It feels like someone is always spreading anxiety every so often.
---
Life-saving straw? I think it’s more like another rope... Just putting assets on the chain can fight unemployment? Dream on.
---
I really don’t understand this logic; AI layoffs have nothing to do with my holding coins.
---
Alright, here we go again with the "savior through issuing tokens" theory. I'm really tired of hearing it.
---
The problem is most people can't even afford to buy coins, so what redemption are we talking about, brother?
---
If crypto is really so powerful, why haven't those unemployed people gone all-in early?
---
They hype it up quite a bit, but I don't know how much of it can actually be implemented...
---
Forget it, I only know I have no money, everything else is useless.

CZ's way of saying this sounds a bit like "the answer to all problems is the crypto world"... but honestly, the idea of UBI + on-chain identity is somewhat interesting, just very hard to implement.
Not to mention, most people can't even figure out how to buy coins, and they still want to rely on crypto to save themselves? That's a bit overthinking, brother.
AI unemployment can't be rushed, but not having coins to wait for depreciation is really stressful haha.
ZK proofs, on-chain governance, and these new things have potential, but unfortunately most retail investors only know how to trade coins...
Basically, it's about wanting a truly ownable asset, whether it's coins, the chain, or whatever. In the AI era, I just don't want to get cut.

The thing about AI taking away jobs, big players in the crypto world always like to say that encryption is the savior, but is it really?
I've heard Zhao's rhetoric too many times; it's just an excuse to sell coins.
Instead of relying on coins, it's better to learn some AI-related skills yourself, really.
Getting laid off by AI and then going bankrupt, and then getting cut again—double blow, no thanks.
Encryption does distribute more fairly, but the premise is that you're still alive, haha.
This logic is a bit far-fetched... The AI threat should have been addressed by policy long ago.
The crypto world always sells stories through anxiety, but I still allocate some, just as insurance.

Ha, coming back with this again? That's what the big players in the crypto world always say.
Wait, how does this logic hold up... AI unemployment saved by coins?
Wake up, whether you hold coins or not, you can't withstand the wave of unemployment.
Trying to cut another wave? Old tricks, brother.
Speaking of which, nothing beats learning skills on your own.
Is CZ really trying to push crypto this time or just casually mentioning it?
This old brother's "lifeline" always feels the same.
But seriously, if AI really replaces jobs on a large scale... we really don't have many good options.
The eternal solution in the crypto world, huh, it's truly impressive.
