As the year-end approaches, caution is intensifying in the Bitcoin market. Currently, the BTC price is hovering around $92,350, facing selling pressure at the $94,000 level. Against this backdrop, outflows from crypto asset ETFs in Q4 2025 have reached $5.5 billion, the largest since the ETF introduction in 2024.

Market Anxiety Reflected in ETF Outflows

This outflow trend aligns with Bitcoin’s annual performance, which has declined by -2.30%. Signs of weakening demand from institutional investors are becoming evident. Notably, data from the options market indicates a defensive stance against downside risks. When the contracts expired on December 26, open interest decreased by 50%, clearly showing that institutional players are cautious.

The Dual Nature of the Market Indicated by Inflows and Outflows

On the other hand, it is interesting to note that current inflow levels are only 9% below the peak of $62 billion recorded in October. This suggests that some long-term investors continue to maintain a bullish outlook. In other words, the overall market is in a state of complex interplay between caution and optimism.

Fluctuations in capital flows surrounding crypto asset ETFs vividly illustrate that institutional investor sentiment and individual investor movements are not always aligned.
