Dubai bans privacy coins, tightens stablecoin rules

• Privacy #crypto ban: Starting Jan 12, 2026, Monero, Zcash, and other privacy-focused #cryptocurrencies are prohibited in Dubai. • Stablecoins: Only fiat-backed assets with highly #liquid reserves are recognized. • Algorithmic tokens: Not recognized as stablecoins under the new rules. Dubai’s regulator is clearly drawing a line between traceable digital assets and privacy-focused or uncollateralized tokens, signaling tighter oversight of #crypto transactions. 🪙
