According to the Golden Ten Data report from January 4th, the Brazilian government issued an official statement regarding its stance on the political situation in Venezuela. After conducting a video conference involving key figures from the administration, including the Brazilian ambassador in Caracas, authorities in Brasília announced their official position on the developments in the neighboring country.

Brazil’s Government Position on Venezuela

On Wednesday, January 3rd, Brazilian time, there was an exchange of views between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, specifically Deputy Minister Maria da Rosa, the Ministry of Defense led by José Múcio, and the Ministry of Justice represented by Ricardo Lewandowski. President Lula participated in discussions concerning the current situation in Venezuela and Brazil’s diplomatic stance regarding the events there.

At a press conference, the Brazilian diplomat explicitly stated that Brazil recognizes Vice President Rodríguez of Venezuela as the current leader of the country’s government administration. This declaration marks an official step toward defining the bilateral relations between the two South American countries.

Security Assessment and International Impact

Maria da Rosa reported that as a result of the military actions carried out on January 3rd, Brazilian citizens suffered no harm. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs is monitoring the situation of Brazilian nationals in Venezuela, but so far, no cases have been reported where citizens are unable to leave the neighboring country.

In response to questions regarding Trump’s statements about the possibility of military intervention in Venezuela, da Rosa indicated that Brazil will closely observe all geopolitical developments in the region. Brazil’s position remains focused on monitoring security and maintaining diplomatic dialogue with interested parties.
