On January 12th, Ethereum founder Vitalik commented on Elon Musk’s statement that he will open-source the new X platform algorithm within 7 days, including how search content is recommended to users, and that this process will be repeated every four weeks: “If done properly, this will be a very good move. I hope it can be validated and reproduced. While it doesn’t solve all problems, it can be very effective in addressing my and many other public members’ concerns about algorithm transparency.” “Furthermore, I actually think four weeks might be a bit optimistic, because that means the algorithm needs to be updated frequently to prevent exploitation. Algorithms indeed need to be verifiable and reproducible, so users who feel they are being blocked, downgraded, etc., can review the algorithm’s execution code and understand why their posts are not getting views.”
