Market watchers on Wall Street are positioning for an interesting 2026. The consensus? Inflation will actually come in softer than expected—a downside surprise to the base case. Why does this matter? Because a cooling inflation backdrop combined with policy support could create the perfect setup for a juiced economy pushing equity valuations higher.

The logic is straightforward: if inflation moderates without crushing growth, the Fed maintains flexibility. Corporations get to expand margins. Risk assets, including equities, benefit from the combination of supportive fundamentals and looser financial conditions. It's the kind of macro environment that historically supports cyclical strength.

For crypto observers, this narrative ties into broader liquidity dynamics. When traditional equities are expected to run, capital flows and risk-on sentiment tend to move in tandem across asset classes. Whether inflation really does surprise lower remains the key variable—but market participants are already pricing in that bullish scenario for the year ahead.

It's the same old story... Can inflation decline + liquidity easing really solve everything? History has shown us this too many times, and reality is never that perfect. If it were that easy, everyone would have already gotten rich, haha.

Nah, it's the same old story of "inflation will have a soft landing," said every year... but by the end of the year, it turns out differently.

Once again, the same rhetoric... inflation surprise lower? Why do I feel like Wall Street is self-hypnotizing?

Here we go again with the old rhetoric of "inflation will decrease, and there will be a surge next year." I'm honestly tired of hearing it... But on the other hand, if it really happens, that would be great. Fed easing, corporate margin expansion, cross-asset capital allocation... The theoretical logic on paper does hold up; now it's just a matter of whether we can endure until next year for this "if" to come true. Is it just another "wolf coming" scenario or a real opportunity... Only time will tell.
