After a survey by The Guardian found that Google's AI overview feature provided misleading information, Google has removed the AI overview feature for some health-related queries. The survey found that, for example, the liver function blood test ranges provided by Google did not account for key demographic factors. Google stated that it would not comment on individual removal cases and claimed that internal clinical reviews found most information to be accurate. The UK Liver Trust Foundation welcomed the move but also expressed broader concerns about the reliability of AI overviews in health queries.
