Last night in the early hours, my follower count just broke 4 million, and as soon as I turned around, X directly cleared 2,000 of them—no response from the analytics backend at all. 😂
This morning, it jumped back to 4 million again. I was about to post a thank you message to celebrate, but then another 2,000 were deleted. It’s just this back-and-forth. I really want to post a 4 million followers thank you, but if this keeps up, it feels like I have to chase the pace of the numbers every time.
The platform’s operation is truly ruthless.

X's move this time is really brilliant; the number of followers is like a roller coaster.

honestly this reads like a poorly designed consensus mechanism lol — if followers are your on-chain state, x's algorithm is basically just reverting transactions without broadcasting why. zero transparency on the pruning logic here.

This platform just loves to play this trick; when the algorithm goes haywire, no one can save it.

Huh? Is X just joking or is there really a bug? The drop in follower count is so outrageous.

X, this move is really playing hide and seek with you.

X is playing "Schrödinger's Fans," and the numbers haven't stabilized at all.
