Andreessen Horowitz (a16z) has raised over $15 billion through five new venture capital funds, accounting for more than 18% of the total US venture capital in 2025. The firm states that its mission is to ensure America's leadership in future technologies, explicitly highlighting artificial intelligence and cryptocurrencies as key architectures. Although this is not a dedicated cryptocurrency fund, its capital will be used to support underlying technologies including blockchain. a16z's cryptocurrency division has been a significant supporter of the industry, investing in companies like Coinbase, Solana, and EigenLayer. The company's co-founder Ben Horowitz (Ben Horowitz) believes that this fundraising is crucial for America's economic, military, and geopolitical competitiveness.
