The XRPL ecosystem is actively pushing real-world asset tokenization. A notable example: Meld Gold brought tokenized gold and silver onto the ledger in 2024, with each token backed by exactly 1 gram of physical metal stored in established vault facilities. This demonstrates how Ripple's infrastructure supports custody and RWA integration at scale. The ability to trade tangible commodities through blockchain opens new possibilities for liquidity and accessibility in precious metals markets.

Meld Gold's recent move is pretty good; pegging 1 gram to physical gold is indeed reliable. I just wonder how strict the audits are on the vault side...

To be honest, the Meld Gold gameplay is quite interesting. The design of 1 gram for 1 token still seems quite rigorous.
People have been working on putting gold on the blockchain for a while, but there aren't many projects that can truly be implemented... Let's wait and see how long Ripple can last this time.

Tokenizing gold is indeed interesting, but when will real liquidity actually materialize?

I've seen this gold on-chain scheme many times, but the key still depends on whether the vault is reliable.

I've seen this gold tokenization trick many times before, but I'm just worried that there won't be that much gold in the vault when the time comes.

Tokenizing gold is indeed a viable path, but the key still lies in whether the custody aspect can truly be reliable.
