As a newcomer to the crypto world, I have recently started to seriously study the logic of spot trading. The long-term trend of leading assets like BTC and ETH is still understandable, but to be honest, the operations involving leverage and contracts are indeed a bit hard to grasp. After listening to advice from many experienced predecessors, I feel that these high-risk tools are not suitable for myself at the moment.

My current strategy is to focus mainly on relatively stable investments like BTC ETFs, while other small coins are still on hold for now. After all, with limited capital, the volatility risk of altcoins is too high, and if I end up losing my living expenses, it would be a loss.

I want to hear everyone's opinions, especially from experienced predecessors—do you have any suggestions on how to gradually improve understanding of complex trading tools while protecting the principal?
