Recently, something interesting happened in the crypto world. A senior executive of a leading exchange posted a New Year message on January 1st — "2026, I'm coming," along with a picture of riding a horse.

And what happened next? Just this one sentence directly triggered two coins to surge. Within a week, the highest increase exceeded 200 times. The entire Chinese community went crazy.

**So, why did this happen?**

First, the power of storytelling. "I'm coming" is originally a New Year’s sentiment, but crypto users instantly interpreted it as a "signal of a surge." As for the "dark horse" coin, it was even more direct — the community collectively speculated: "This is the dark horse project that a top-tier exchange is looking for." The story was simple and straightforward, and the speed of dissemination was astonishing.

Then, what happened on January 8th was even more crucial. "I'm coming" was launched as a new coin observation area on a major exchange. In the crypto community, this is usually understood as "the first step in listing a coin." Although the official didn’t explicitly say so, the community was already shouting wildly: "The next Binance is coming!" FOMO (Fear of Missing Out) emotions instantly exploded.

The Chinese community didn’t sit idle either. Memes, short videos, and Telegram groups were all filled with horse-riding memes. A bunch of KOLs (Key Opinion Leaders) kept shouting: "Even He Yi is riding a horse, what are you waiting for?" Emotions were concentrated and ignited within 24 hours, and buying pressure flooded in from all directions.

The final factor was the most deadly — both of these coins had initial market caps of less than a million dollars, with extremely low circulating supply. Just tens of thousands of dollars could push the price up ten, twenty times or more. Market makers, working with the community’s enthusiasm, amplified the effect, creating a perfect "perfect storm."

What does this tell us? Small-cap coins, under the support of highly active communities, can indeed generate astonishing gains. But the underlying logic is also clear — poor liquidity, emotion-driven, concentrated bursts. Risks and opportunities are often just a line apart.
