Last year in the first half of the year, I interviewed a backend engineer from the wallet team of a leading exchange. During a casual chat, he casually mentioned a number, and I was a bit shocked at the time.

Do you want to know the scale of their Web3 wallet users back then?

A. 100 people
B. 200 people
C. 300 people
D. 400 people
E. 500 people

This data alone shows the true state of the entire Web3 wallet track at that stage. Looking back now, this moment is quite interesting — it reveals the growth trajectory of the ecosystem from its inception to now.

Are only a few hundred users in the top exchange wallets? Laughing to death, this must be from a long time ago. --- Damn, how outrageous does this number have to be to shock you? I guess B. --- So how many times has it been multiplied now? That's just ridiculous. --- Wait, is this really the top? I remember not many people used wallets back then. --- No wonder so many projects died later; there was no user base at all. --- This is the truth of Web3's early days, all stories, no users.

Ha, is this the number for top exchange wallets? It must be E, otherwise I can't sound that shocked.

I guess, the number should be A, otherwise it would be too embarrassing. The number of users in top exchange wallets? That’s the true reflection of Web3. --- It's the same narrative of "from inception to now"... According to the database, such statements have been almost three years since the last commitment. --- So now the question is, did these project teams update their data later? Or does that data itself deserve to be included in the Guinness World Records? --- Shocking as it is, the delay will still be a delay. Just wait patiently for the bloom, anyway there’s plenty of time. --- It made me laugh. The user scale of top exchange wallets is still in the three digits... I suggest adding some current comparison data. --- That’s why I never believe those "coming soon" promises in roadmaps. The delay notification is the nth time, data always lies faster than promises.

Haha, only a few hundred users have wallets on the major exchanges, that's so realistic, I think it's C --- Wait, this data must be E, otherwise it wouldn't be so shocking --- Laughing to death, thinking back, the ecosystem was indeed very barren back then --- Definitely no more than 500, I bet it's a three-digit number --- Now I understand what it means to go from 0 to 1, today's prosperity is truly hard-won

lol "head exchange wallet" with basically nobody using it... that's the real market inefficiency nobody talks about. systemic risk hiding in plain sight.

I bet these numbers aren't that high at all. Are all the leading exchanges struggling like this?
