BlockBeats News, December 16 — According to Bloomberg, former U.S. President Donald Trump has filed a lawsuit against BBC, claiming at least $10 billion in damages over a misleading edit in a documentary last year. Trump stated that the edit left the false impression that he directly called for violence in a speech prior to the January 6, 2021 attack on the U.S. Capitol by his supporters. The lawsuit against the British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC) was filed on Monday in the Federal Court in Miami. The complaint includes two charges: one for defamation and another alleging that BBC violated Florida’s Deceptive Trade Practices Act. Trump is seeking at least $5 billion for each charge and is also demanding compensation for other related costs.
