The Solana Foundation announced that Firedancer, an independent validator client developed by Jump Crypto since 2022, has launched on the Solana mainnet. It operates alongside the previously dominant client ecosystem, primarily occupied by Agave and Agave-Jito, which account for over 95% of validators, aiming to reduce software risks associated with client centralization. The client adopts a modular parallel architecture designed to improve hardware utilization and support higher throughput.
