The Hong Kong Monetary Authority (HKMA) has issued a statement stating that it has recently received multiple public inquiries regarding scam websites impersonating the official HKMA website. These sites诱导 citizens to conduct digital currency or cryptocurrency transactions on websites bearing the HKMA logo, and deceive victims with claims of "tax payment" or "account unlocking" to extract funds. Such websites have no connection with the official HKMA and will not contact citizens proactively or request transfers, payments, or account verification operations. The HKMA has reported the incidents to the police and reminds the public not to click on suspicious links, to verify financial investment information carefully, and to be vigilant against scams.
