So the regulators rolled out new rules saying exchanges gotta report user transactions. Sounds straightforward on paper.

But here's the thing—how many Nigerian traders are actually using platforms that comply with local reporting requirements? Most folks I know are either on international exchanges that don't answer to Nigerian authorities, or they've moved their operations completely off-grid.

And then there's the whole ecosystem of automated trading bots, self-custody wallets, and offshore platforms that operate in jurisdictions where Nigerian regulators have zero reach. You're telling me those transactions are getting tracked?

The gap between what's written in regulatory documents and what's actually happening on the ground is... let's just say it's pretty wide. Maybe that's the real conversation we should be having.

the performative nature of regulatory frameworks versus the actual lived reality of market participants... honestly this is the real institutional critique we should be examining through a post-structuralist lens

Regulation is just a paper tiger; serious players have already left long ago. The official narrative is never aligned with actual operations. Everyone has moved to self-custody wallets; how can you chase them? Smart people are all using offshore solutions; you simply can't reach them. Even if these regulations are enacted, it’s pointless; no one will truly cooperate.

Talking about military strategy on paper is pointless; real people have long since moved on-chain. --- Regulation can never keep up with technology; that's the reality. --- So, these rules are basically useless to those who truly understand. --- Offshore + self-custody, perfect evasion, it's that simple. --- The gap is enormous; who believes these regulations are effective? --- For international exchanges, just a VPN, how can regulators chase that? --- Once automation robots run, all data is gone; how can you report that? --- Most real trading takes place in invisible places, and officials are completely unaware. --- That's why I never use local platforms—what's the point? --- Rules are rules; reality is reality. They are two different things.

The regulations on paper are completely different from how things work in reality, and everyone is well aware of it.

Regulators can never keep up with our speed, and that's the beauty of Web3.

The gap between regulatory documents and actual operations is not just big—it's like two different worlds.

Regulators: We have regulations in place. Traders: Alright, I’ll just use a VPN. That gap is truly something else.
