Layer-1 chains competing with Bitcoin as actual money? That's the real question worth diving into.

We've seen countless L1s pitch themselves as the "next generation" of blockchain tech, but can any of them seriously challenge BTC's position as digital currency? Speed advantage? Sure. Lower fees? Maybe. But does that translate to becoming actual cryptomoney people trust?

Bitcoin's got 15+ years of battle-tested network security and brand recognition that's basically unmatched. Meanwhile, newer L1s are still proving themselves. Fast transactions are nice, but monetary properties go way deeper than TPS numbers.

Honestly, which L1 can really compete with BTC... is it almost over? They've built trust over more than ten years, which can't be replaced by TPS.

To be honest, high TPS and low fees are all superficial; the trust in Bitcoin is something that no amount of L1 spending can buy.

The moat around Bitcoin can’t be shaken just by adding a few more TPS... New L1s are still competing on speed and fees, but what people trust has never been about those things.
