A card game that's been pretty popular lately in the Mega Mafia ecosystem lets you accumulate points just by playing.

Showdown is cleverly designed—you just need to play matches, complete weekly missions, climb the ladder, or share some of your own deck builds, and Show Points will gradually add up. It's basically a play-to-earn setup.

These points will have uses later on, so there's no harm in stockpiling them now. This kind of play-to-earn mechanism is fairly common in GameFi projects, but Showdown has integrated it into TCG card gameplay, offering a fresh idea to the blockchain gaming market. Judging by the leaderboard rewards, the competition should be pretty intense.

Card game with play-to-earn, I'm truly impressed by this approach. To be honest, this mechanism is really clever, but the leaderboard part is probably going to get competitive again. Let's stockpile the points first and see what they can be used for later. Feels like another new twist on P2E; how long it will last depends on the situation.

This play-to-earn model always feels a bit off... Could the points devalue later on?

The "play-to-earn" approach is praised every day. The key issue is that the points are valuable but not really worth much.

ngl the real question is how much gas we're gonna bleed bridging these points to mainnet lmao. show points sound cool but if the exit costs gwei me to death it's just another L2 liquidity trap fr fr

ngl the points accumulation mechanics here are just poorly optimized... you're telling me there's no gas-efficient batching for claim transactions? seems like they're leaving basis points on the table during peak network periods. classic gamfi design, really.

Played a couple of rounds, and the points are definitely increasing, but the level of competition on this leaderboard is a bit intimidating. What can Show Points be redeemed for? The official team hasn’t clarified that yet, right? Play-to-earn sounds great, but I’m just worried about future inflation making the rewards worthless. The Mega Mafia ecosystem has been really active lately. You can even earn points by sharing decks? I like that setup—much more interesting than just grinding the ladder. By the way, is this game stable? What if the player base drops off one day and it dies out?

I've seen a lot of play-to-earn card games before; the main thing is to see what the points can actually be redeemed for later. But it's interesting that Showdown is bringing P2E into TCGs. The ladder competition will probably keep you grinding all night. Can Show Points be exchanged for real money? That's the key issue.

Uh, wait a minute, are these points actually worth anything? Or is this just another empty promise project?

Can you really earn points by sharing ladder decks? I have to give it a try. I just came up with a pretty good setup recently.
