Lately I've been reflecting on what certain projects are really building in this space.
We've watched countless initiatives pitch "community-owned" promises and "decentralized" visions. Most fade into noise.
But something clicked for me recently.
For decades, legacy brands constructed massive empires off our backs - our attention, our data, our loyalty. They extracted value while we got... what exactly? Discount codes?
Now we're seeing experiments where the community isn't just along for the ride. They're holding the keys. Shaping direction. Capturing upside.
That shift? That's the part worth paying attention to.

Sounds nice, but there are very few projects that actually give power to the community.

ngl, most projects just hype up being community-owned, but I haven't really seen many that actually give power to the community.

Sounds good, but are there really any projects working on this, or is it just another round of hype?

NGL, most projects are just the same old thing with a new name. How many truly let the community have the power...

It’s that same old “community ownership” narrative again... I’ve heard it too many times, and most of them really do end up going nowhere. But this time, the angle is actually pretty interesting—it’s definitely different.

That's true, most projects are just talking big, and very few actually give the community real decision-making power.

NGL I've heard too many "community ownership" stories, most of them are nonsense.
Honestly, in web3, there are very few projects that truly give power to the community.
Is this just another empty promise? Or is it really different?
Got burned once in the early days, so now I take these kinds of promises with a grain of salt.

NGL, these days there are too many projects claiming community governance, but very few actually give power to the community.
