Changing phones can really make you regret it deeply. I didn’t back up a few old wallets at the time, thinking there was probably just some gas left inside, so I didn’t bother. This afternoon, I was bored and on a whim decided to scan those addresses one by one with DeBank—and I was completely stunned.
Several wallets still had tokens in them, but since common wallet apps don’t display these coins at all, I had totally forgotten about them. The most heartbreaking part is, if I had discovered this two months earlier, the value of these things would have been about three times what they are now 😭
I seriously want to slap myself. Reminder to everyone: don’t be lazy—before changing devices, make sure to: 1) Write down all your wallet seed phrases 2) Regularly scan your addresses with a blockchain explorer or tools like DeBank 3) Don’t just look at the assets shown in your wallet app; some obscure coins aren’t recognized by them.
A hard-learned lesson—hope this helps you avoid the same pitfall.
