$ETH A big player made a move late at night, directly dumping $166 million

Last night during the market turbulence, that mysterious account known as the “BTC OG Insider Whale” was active again. When ETH was around $2,900, this guy started buying heavily, accumulating a $166 million position in one go. Now, he’s already made nearly a million dollars on paper.

Looking through his previous trading records, this person really knows what he’s doing—the last few rounds of swing trades and shorts were all timed perfectly, with hardly any mistakes.

What does this kind of action mean? It shows that the “smart money” with deep pockets and wide information channels is still bullish on ETH’s future moves. They dare to buy during dips and even open high-leverage longs, clearly confident in a short-term rebound.

Moreover, this person’s trades often align with macro news, so this move is definitely worth noting. At the very least, it shows one thing: the big players in the market haven’t left—they’re still looking for opportunities to position themselves.

What about for retail investors? Don’t panic when you see this kind of news, but also don’t blindly follow. Treat it as a reference signal—at this level, big money thinks there isn’t much room left for a further drop, and the probability of a rebound is increasing.

A few practical strategies:

If your position isn’t large, consider gradually buying some mainstream coins at lows, but absolutely control your allocation—don’t go all in at once.

If you’re already holding, just hold on and make sure to set stop-loss levels to protect against sudden volatility.

One thing to remember—the whale’s moves are just for reference, not buy or sell signals. Don’t chase the top, don’t panic, and maintain your own pace. The market always advances through volatility; rational decision-making is the only way retail investors can make money in the long term.

I am relieved that the big investors have bought it, which means that it can still rise

This whale is really ruthless, dropping 166 million all at once. As a retail investor, I’d have to save up for ages to catch up. Daring to take such a big order at 2900—either they have inside info or they really have something up their sleeve. Anyway, I can’t see through it. But then again, the fact that big money hasn’t run away shows they’re still optimistic. Let’s see if we can get a taste of the action too. To be honest, following a whale’s moves does make me feel more secure, but I still have to guard against getting trapped. The probability of a rebound has increased, right? I’ll test the waters by entering in batches. My iron rule is never to go all in.

This whale is showing off their moves again, but I have to admit, they're really good at timing. We can't keep up with the pace of the rich, just watch and learn. This rebound really feels like it's here, but who can say for sure? Entering in batches works, just don't go all-in at once.

tbh the whale timing thing always gets me... like yeah sure they made a mil in profit already but literally nobody talks about the times they got absolutely rekt. anyway if you're actually considering this remember: survivorship bias is a hell of a drug

Damn, this whale is accumulating from the bottom again, the scale of their moves is really something else. This guy's trading is truly impressive. Just look at his history and you'll see he's not an ordinary player. I just wonder how he gets his info so quickly. Don't follow the crowd, everyone. As retail investors, we should just watch the show. If you really want to follow, make sure you know your own limits. Enter in small amounts in batches, set your stop-loss before going to sleep, and don't let the whale's moves mess with your head.
