[Bitpush] The past day in the futures market was another bloodbath.

Total liquidations across the network reached $113 million. Shorts had it a bit worse, getting wiped out to the tune of $60.31 million, while longs didn’t fare much better, with $52.68 million evaporating instantly.

For Bitcoin, longs were liquidated for $7.92 million and shorts for $7.43 million, which is pretty evenly matched. Ethereum was more interesting—shorts got hammered for $9.95 million, while longs lost $7.71 million, indicating a lot of people bet the wrong way on ETH.

Even worse, in these 24 hours, 98,245 accounts were wiped out to zero. The most brutal single liquidation happened on a certain exchange’s BTC contract, where $770,000 vanished in an instant.

The market is just that ruthless. If you play leverage too aggressively, one swing can wipe out everything you have.
