The "Clean Cloud Act of 2025" has been introduced in the US Senate, aimed at limiting carbon emissions from mining companies and AI sector data centers. Its authors are Senators Sheldon Whitehouse and John Fetterman. The bill proposes an annual reduction of emission limits by 11% until reaching zero by 2035.

The document provides for an amendment to the law "On Clean Air," extending environmental requirements to enterprises with energy consumption of 100 kW and above. Facilities that do not meet the limits will pay fines adjusted for inflation. The funds will be directed to compensations for citizens through local grants.
