Pakistan’s Interior Minister Meets with U.S. Officials to Discuss Upcoming U.S.-Iran Talks in Islamabad

On April 9, Pakistan’s Ministry of Interior said on social media that Pakistan’s Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi held talks with officials from the U.S. Embassy in Pakistan to discuss the current situation in the Middle East region. Both sides welcomed a ceasefire in regional fighting and discussed upcoming negotiations between the United States and Iran to be held in Islamabad. U.S. Vice President Vance, U.S. President’s special envoy Witko— and former White House senior adviser, and Trump’s son-in-law Kushner—will attend the talks. Pakistan’s Ministry of Interior said it has formulated a comprehensive plan to provide reliable security assurances for all foreign guests.
