X rolls out a new anti–crypto phishing mechanism: token-issuance content accounts created for the first time will be automatically locked and required to verify

Gate News message, April 2, X platform product lead Nikita Bier revealed that X platform is rolling out new countermeasures against cryptocurrency phishing scams. Under this mechanism, if an account first publishes cryptocurrency-related content in its historical posts, the platform will automatically lock the account and require identity verification. Nikita Bier said this is expected to eliminate 99% of the motivation to do harm. He also noted that Google has not yet been able to effectively block related phishing emails, and this issue remains one of the important channels for spreading ongoing scams.
