BlockBeats News, April 1, according to The Wall Street Journal, Arab officials said that after suffering an Iranian attack, the UAE is preparing to help the United States and its allies open the Strait of Hormuz through military force. This move would make the UAE the first Gulf state to directly join the war.

Officials said the UAE is currently lobbying the UN Security Council to pass a resolution authorizing such military action. One UAE official revealed that its diplomats have urged the United States as well as European and Asian military powers to form an alliance to forcefully open the strait with military force. The official added that the Iranian regime believes it is fighting for its survival and is willing to lock down the strait to take the global economy down with it. The official also said that the UAE is actively assessing what military role it could take in ensuring the security of the strait, including helping to clear mines and provide other supporting services.

In addition, some Arab officials mentioned that this Gulf state has also proposed that the United States should occupy the relevant islands within that strategic waterway, including Abu Musa Island, which has been controlled by Iran for half a century but which the UAE claims sovereignty over.
