According to 1M AI News monitoring, the Agent product SOLO of Trae, ByteDance’s AI programming tool, launched today its desktop and web versions and kicked off internal testing.
SOLO offers two modes of agents: Code mode focuses on programming and development scenarios, while the MTC mode supports general tasks such as writing proposals and data analysis, and can be used by multiple roles including engineering, product, data, and operations. The new version uses a three-column workspace, relies on cloud computing power to support multiple tasks running in parallel at the same time, and SOLO automatically breaks down tasks and calls tools to complete execution—users only need to submit requirements and acceptance results. It supports handling various file formats such as JSON, Python, PPTX, and CSV, with outputs displayed directly in the tool panel. The desktop version currently supports only macOS. The China version can be downloaded from trae.cn, and the international web entry point is solo.trae.ai; both versions require an invitation code, with limited-time free access.
