US Senate Rejects Iran War Powers Resolution for Third Time, Vote Results 53-47

Gate News reports that on March 19, the U.S. Senate rejected a war powers resolution proposed by New Jersey Democratic Senator Cory Booker. The vote was 53 to 47, marking the third time in less than a year that a measure to limit Trump’s military actions against Iran was vetoed. Previously, the Senate rejected a similar resolution introduced by Virginia Democratic Senator Tim Kaine on March 4, and the earliest rejection occurred last June after the U.S. airstrike on Iran’s nuclear facilities.
