The report states that the Pump.fun platform is struggling with the Meme Coin craze, as their “graduation rate” has been below 1% for four consecutive weeks. “Graduation rate” is the term that describes tokens that pass the incubation stage and can be fully traded on the Solana decentralized exchange. To “graduate”, tokens must meet certain liquidity and trading requirements.

Data from Dune Analytics shows that since Feb. 17, Pump.fun’s “graduation rate” has remained below 1%. Although there was a week of 1.67% in November last year, it is due to the huge number of tokens created. In the week starting November 11 last year, around 323,000 tokens were created on Pump.fun, making the rate of 1.67% equivalent to about 5,400 tokens entering Solana’s DeFi economy in just one week.

Currently, the number of tokens created on Pump.fun and Solana has plummeted, leaving the number of weekly “graduating” tokens to an average of 1,500 tokens over four weeks, according to data from Dune. This reflects a decline in activity on Pump.fun and related cryptocurrency markets, creating additional challenges for the ability to access and commercialize new cryptocurrencies.
