I’ve set a small rule for myself: if I can complete a task on the mainnet in one go, I won’t split it into three or four L2 transfers just to save a bit of gas. The time saved in experience is also a cost. Usually, I stick to small transactions on L2, but if I need to lock assets long-term or handle permissions that are more significant (like contract approvals or moving key assets), I’d rather pay a bit more gas to clear the boundaries on the mainnet and sleep more peacefully.
Recently, when I was staking again and sharing security, I got criticized for “copying others,” which I can understand… Honestly, the more layers of yield stacking there are, the harder it is to explain which layer might blow up first if something goes wrong. Anyway, I now prefer shorter paths, fewer dependencies, and less fuss. That’s how I’ll proceed for now.
